Attack on Titan is a state-of-the-art action-packed dark-fantasy anime series, based on the manga of similar title by Hajime Isayama. Stating that AoT is a decent anime will be a serious understatement. You don’t need to be an otaku or any anime-expert to appreciate the beauty of this gem of an anime. With a 4.7/5 crunchy roll rating and 8.8/10 IMDb rating, AoT is more than qualified to be inducted in every anime hall of fame ever made. And no we are not exaggerating at all! All the ingredients of a perfectly forged anime are used in AoT, that too in excellently balanced proportions!

Music, action, drama, out of the world animation, engaging story, character development, and twisted reality: all of it in one anime. Although Attack on Titans might be a bit much for new watchers who are not adept to intense and bloody battles, but if you are ok with that, you’re in for a treat of nerve wracking storyline that hits another level high with every passing season.

Plot:

The story is set in a post-apocalyptic world where huge mindless beings started appearing about 100 years ago. Those beings were named Titans. These titans devoured every life that was unlucky enough to cross their path. Now the humanity resides inside huge walls created with sole purpose of protecting humanity from the titans. Well you know how it is, with every huge wall, comes an interesting mystery and back story. These walls are no exception. Suddenly, an unusually large titan, later called the colossal titan, standing even taller that the 50-meter wall appears on the edge of Wall Maria, shatters it with just one kick, allowing swarms of titans to get inside and humanity loses about 1/3rd of its total territory. This scenario confirmed that titans are not all-muscle-no-brain giants. The district of Shiganshina was lost to the titans. The whole massacre was witnessed by young Eren Yeager firsthand. He watched helplessly when a titan devoured his mother in front of his eyes. Eren vowed then and there, that he will kill every last titan in existence. Eren and his friends, who were also saved alongside Eren by a Garrison unit-captain Hannes, decided to join Cadet Corps; little did they know that they will become the most valuable assets of humanity against titans one day. The story progresses and stay focused on young Eren and his friends as they unearth the twisted origin of their land and their people. It turns out that the history that our heroes have been taught isn’t complete, or even true. Anything beyond that will be a spoiler, so let’s end it here. We wish that this marvelous anime will not let your hopes down when you decide to watch it.
